Man-made meat costs more than $300,000

Summary

On August 5th, Hammersmith London, people over the world gathered around to witness the first lab-grown meat to ever be created. The main reason to its creation is to feed the burgeoning population and reduce the amount of methane that were being produced by cows, said Mark Post, the scientist behind this revolutionize theory. Mark also claimed that even with the huge cost of $325,000 devoted to this project, it will be dropped down to a reasonable price after a decade and will be the main supply of food for the world. The science behind this idea is to take cells from cows without killing them and grow them into strings of muscles. After that, they were minced, shaped, and flavored to taste like a real piece of meat patty.

Opinion

In my opinion, this discovery is a very important step towards industry food because it can feed the burgeoning population and reduce methane that the cows are creating. Even though it is very helpful to mankind, it can also exist in two –sides, both good and bad. For example, cows will be needed less which can cause loss of jobs for farmers and herders. One of my question is if cows are needed less, what will happen to the milk resource? In conclusion, creating man-made meat can be helpful but can also be harmful.
